A 2D sci-fi platformer about a young boy who may be the last survivor of an alien invasion. Orphan takes players to the near future. One day the Earth is invaded by machines from outer space whose sole task is to eliminate all life. During the first attack, the protagonist's house is destroyed and his relatives disappear without a trace. Deprived of the help of adults, the young man must set off on a journey in search of a safe place. The road through mountains, valleys, forests and abandoned houses, however, is not easy. The vast areas of the Appalachian Mountains are patrolled by alien machines, which is why the expedition turns into a struggle for survival over time.Orphan is a classic two-dimensional platformer whose action is shown from the side. It focuses primarily on confrontations with mechanical opponents, both serial robots and powerful bosses. There are several ways to deal with them in the game. First, the young protagonist can simply avoid the adversaries by distracting them, sneaking around and hiding behind various obstacles such as chests or boulders. Secondly, adversaries can be eliminated silently by approaching their backs carefully. Thirdly, in the later stages of the game, nothing stands in the way of going into direct combat. However, you should be careful, because every contact with the opponent ends in the hero's death. However, the risk pays off, because valuable items may fall out of the remains of machines, such as a force field generator, which, for example, helps to overcome the traps.To facilitate the confrontation with opponents, the developers gave players a number of different weapons that the hero finds during his journey. The arsenal includes glass bottles, dynamite sticks, EMP grenades, mines, and even rocket launchers and alien laser guns, among others. Different types of mechanical aliens have their weaknesses, so choosing the right weapon for your opponent is the key to winning.
