This time its protagonist is Squall Leonhart - a cadet of the military academy, involved in the hostilities with the neighboring state of Galbadia. Story The main character of Final Fantasy VIII is a certain Squall Leonheart - a cadet from one of the three famous military academies, known as the Balamb Garden. The last task of the hero, before being accepted into the elite SeeD special services, is to check reports of military aggression by the troops of the neighboring land of Galbadia. Soon, a great war begins, and Squall and his newly met comrades are entangled in a complex plot involving the president of Galbadia himself and the mysterious sorceress, Edea Kramer, who turns out to be the main cause of the confusion.  After the groundbreaking seventh part, the "eight" also brought a number of innovative solutions to the series, which - as it turned out later - clearly divided the existing Final Fantasy fans. Although the core of the gameplay has remained unchanged, and the fun continues to focus on exploration and the quasi-turn combat system, its model and the way of developing heroes have completely changed.  Compared to the two previous installments of the series, containing a lot of steampunk elements, Final Fantasy VIII goes even further, at some points approaching the classic science fiction (e.g. travel and space stations). For the first time in the history of the series, the love theme comes to the fore, which is one of the main driving forces of the plot and the cause of the main character's metamorphosis.  One of the most noticeable changes in Final Fantasy VIII is the visuals, which are a departure from the "super deformed" style characteristic of the previous installments of the series, in which the characters' heads are disproportionately large in relation to the rest of the body. Both the game world and characters are presented in a more realistic way, although still in a typical manga convention. The graphics of the game, character animations and cutscenes look much better than in the case of the predecessor. One element that hasn't changed is the brilliant as ever, epic soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu.

From time to time we also come across powerful bosses, and as the game progresses, we gain experience and develop the hero's abilities. The biggest novelty introduced in Legend of Mana is the Land Make system. When we start our adventure, most of the map is literally empty. To change this, we need to find artifacts in which ancient lands were sealed. Then we place them in a place of our choice so that a city, dungeon or other location appears there. These differ only in appearance, but also in the monsters and items they contain. These places also describe the so-called Mana Levels for each of the eight types of magic assigned to mythical creatures such as genies, fireflies, salamanders and gnomes. The higher the mana level, the more effective the spells are when fighting in this area. All this can also change depending on artifacts adjacent to a given location.
