Boundless is a fantasy-style network sandbox released on PS4 and PC. The project was developed by Wonderstruck Games studio, known for such titles as The Marvellous Miss Take or Polycraft. It is worth mentioning that initially the game was called Oort Online and its early version went on sale for PC in 2014. Then the authors also started working on the conversion to consoles and at the same time continued the development of the original edition. To reawaken the interest in this position, a decision was made to rename it Boundless.
In Boundless, players can explore a large set of diverse worlds, connected using magical portals. The game offers complete freedom of choice of activity. We can become, among others hunter, explorer, builder, trader and warrior. The production also has an optional story layer, in which we are looking for artifacts from the extinct Oort civilization and we will try to find out what led to the collapse of this very technologically advanced race. In addition, we have the opportunity to face a faction of powerful guardians, as well as to fight giant intelligent fortresses known as the Titans.
All worlds are procedurally generated and each of them offers a different geography, climate, resources and fauna. Some of the creatures we meet are defenseless, while others will try to hunt us. There is also a crafting system in Boundless. The collected raw materials allow us to construct a variety of objects, ranging from small items to large buildings.
Released on the PS4 and PC platform, Boundless puts a lot of emphasis on the MMO aspect. The entire system of connected lands is one permanent universe, changing as a result of the actions and decisions of thousands of players. The users themselves drive the virtual economy here and there are also numerous missions and challenges that require cooperation. The cooperation is facilitated by the system of creating guilds, which can deal with, among others, trade, construction works and exploration of dangerous areas in search of artifacts and raw materials.
An additional attraction is the option to create your own worlds. We choose most of their elements ourselves, ranging from the climate and topography to the color of the setting sun.
