Story
The Forged Battalion action takes place at the end of the 21st century. The vision of the future presented by the authors is not optimistic. Climate change has devastated our planet and weakened world powers, allowing the birth of a powerful military organization known as the Collective, which took control of a large part of the Earth.
Gameplay
Petroglyph Studio is full of people who were involved in creating the Command & Conquer series . The PC game Forged Battalion resembles this series in many ways, but at the same time the authors have tried to introduce fresh solutions that make this project something more than a carbon copy of the old classics of the genre.In accordance with the standards of the RTS genre, while playing, we construct bases and produce troops to use them in the fight against enemy armies. Interestingly, the players play the role of not only a commander but also an engineer. Our forces consist of armored infantry and various types of machines: from tanks, through planes, to mechs. We have to design each of these units ourselves, choosing between many types of skeletons, engines, components and weapons. As the game progresses, players unlock new branches of an extensive technology tree, providing themselves with access to better and better parts. Such a system allows us to quickly adapt to the situation on the battlefield and, if necessary, completely convert our forces to deal more efficiently with a specific type of enemy.
