There are multiple strategies that players can undertake, such as focusing on military development to dominate neighbors or diplomatic solutions to create alliances and trade routes. The game features six main resources, including Food, Timber, Metal, Oil, Wealth, and Knowledge, which are crucial for national development. Additionally, the developers have prepared an advanced Technology Tree consisting of dozens of different inventions characteristic of a particular time period.In Rise of Nations Extended Edition, finding the balance between offense, defense, and the economy is the key to success. Players must think strategically and consider different unit strengths and weaknesses to be victorious in battles. There are five tactical formations in the game, and choosing the right one is important as it can change the final result of the battle. The game includes the base game and the expansion pack known as Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots, which features 18 different nations with unique characteristics, units, and technologies, from ancient warriors and knights to modern vehicles like helicopters and battleships.The game has received extremely positive reviews, with many fans praising the developers for adjusting the game for modern standards without changing the classic gameplay mechanics.
