Moonlighther is a fantasy-based rogue-like action RPG for PC, Switch, etc., in which we play the role of a simple shopkeeper who dreams of becoming a real hero. The game was developed by the Spanish studio Digital Sun Games, which managed to gain the support of players as part of Square Enix's program of supporting independent developers - Square Enix Collective.
Gameplay
The mechanics of fun in Moonlighter combines the features of a classic, rogue-like action RPG with elements of a trading game, and the gameplay itself is divided into two main parts. The first of them are regular, night trips to the nearby dungeons, where, by defeating successive opponents, Will can get a lot of valuable things. In randomly generated dungeons, our protagonist faces both serial, not very intelligent enemies and quite powerful bosses who, after their death, part with a whole mountain of equipment and goods that can be sold. During the expedition, our protagonist can use different types of weapons (requiring the use of different combat tactics), use increasingly stronger armor, and thanks to ancient scrolls - use various special abilities. The possible death of the hero is not permanent, but it takes us back to the beginning of a given dungeon and causes us to lose a large part of the previously acquired equipment.
