Our ultimate goals were to create a front skid plate that simplified maintenance, improve durability and improve the appearance of the truck. these skid plates far exceeded those goals!The RPM front skid plate features a new bell crank mounting system that eliminates the need to remove the bell crank every time the front skid plate is removed. We accomplished this goal by using a pair of posts that press into the chassis of the truck and another pair of posts molded into the skid plate. This sandwiches the bell crank between the skid plate and chassis and supports both the upper and lower portions of the bell crank, reducing steering slop and giving a more precise feel to the steering system. This system simplifies maintenance and eliminates the annoying problem of the bell crank screws popping out of the chassis support holes after an impact to the front end.Our front skid plate also uses a triangulated chassis mounting system that uses a support post in the center of the skid plate to bolt up to a pre-existing hole in the stock Traxxas chassis. This third hole not only adds some serious strength and durability, it adds some much needed structural support to the bell cranks.As a final touch, we recessed the screw heads of the front two flat head mounting screws deeper than the stock skid plates to help reduce damage to the screw heads.RPM front skid plates for the Traxxas Slash are sold in three color options just like the rear ? black, blue and gray color which is designed to blend in with the stock Traxxas gray colors of the chassis, bulkheads & transmission.Tech Notes: RPM skid plates are designed for and only guaranteed to fit a stock Traxxas Slash chassis and chassis components.

It fits anything from the V5 and EXB editions as well as older models. The differential clearance area is wider for the larger differential hump found on the V5. Additionally, now included is a hinge pin retainer plate so no additional parts are necessary to run our front bumper.Our Front Bumper for the ARRMA Kraton 6S is structurally engineered to add much needed impact-absorption. It dramatically reduces transferred impact forces to the chassis. Furthermore, our two-piece design incorporates a 4mm thick skid plate with 1.5mm skid ribs. Each rib extends more than 1-1/2 (38mm) in front of the chassis and protects the front of that expensive aluminum chassis from skid and impact damage. We then bolt a huge, 3/8 x 1/2" x 6-3/4 (9.5mm x 12.7mm x 171.5mm) curved oval bumper on top to help protect the body.Each RPM Front Bumper and skid plate is molded in black from our exclusive blend of engineering grade nylons for unmatched strength and durability. Even though our thicker, more stout front bumper and skid plate is significantly stronger and more beefy than stock, it still falls in at a weight that is slightly less than the stock front bumper*. So even if the racer wants to run a full RPM front bumper and skid plate, they won?t have to worry about adding unwanted weight. To help improve overall durability, our skid rail design is wider than stock, which perfectly matches the design of our front and rear Slash skid plates.The RPM front bumper and skid plate for the Traxxas Slash is available in three color options: black on black, blue on blue or a chrome bumper on a gray skid plate. RPM Front Bumper & Skid Plate for HPI Baja 5B Quick Notes: Fits the HPI Baja 5B Replaces stock HPI 85420 A lack of front-end protection of any R/C vehicle eventually results in hours of down time, replacing expensive chassis components from front-end impacts. The stock set-up on the HPI Baja 5B has virtually no protection up front since the bumper is tucked so far into the front of the vehicle. RPM steps in with some serious protection in the form of an all-new bumper specifically designed for this beast!Our front bumper is a two-piece design, utilizing a skid plate and separate bumper that can be removed for racing. Each piece has specific design elements incorporated to dramatically improve the strength and durability of the HPI Baja 5B. The RPM skid plate is attached to the chassis with four 5mm screws, not two like the stock version, effectively cutting transferred impact energy in half, divided equally among those four screws. Our skid plate also has huge skid rails all along its lower section and is a major part of the impact-absorption system. It extends up, out and away from the chassis, creating a large curved section that acts as a buffer zone that rapidly dissipates impact energy by compressing during a hit, slowing and absorbing that energy without transferring it into the more fragile components of the vehicle. Once the impact force dissipates, the memory characteristics of our trademark blend of RPM nylons will return the bumper to its original position.The bumper itself is over 6-1/2? wide and is designed to prevent smaller objects such as fence and mailbox poles from slipping in-between the skid plate and the tires.
