The Inspiration for this project has been an interesting one. So many of my decks in the past have centered around a theme or a specific moment in History. Because of this, I have always had historical characters to feature in my decks depending on the theme. For this project, the beginnings were a little bit different. Many times between projects I will spend a few days just gathering reference and pouring over tons of beautiful images of art and other things from which I might find inspiration. As I was searching for a creative direction for a new project, a song began to play on my playlist that really caught my attention. My wife sometimes calls me a nerd in my choice of music. I enjoy listening to all types of music, but when I am working I seem to find the most focus listening to instrumental music from cinema, games, and other types of media. This song captivated me, and it was the catalyst for the entire project. I put it on repeat and listened to it all day while creating a completely new set of Court cards from the images of, what I would describe as a mixture of Sci-Fi and fantasy. The designs that transpired over the course of the day were promising to me, and most are very different from any of my previous work. The title of the deck was actually derived from the title of the song that sparked it, Invocation .

A NOTE FROM DANIEL MADISON I tested over 50 different stocks and finishes to find and create my perfect deck of playing cards. With both conscious and subconscious influences from the casino industry as well as my own visceral world I believe that I found something in the Rounders that represents who I am and what I stand for. I have always thought that everything beautiful is either intricate or simple, and I am drawn to the latter, especially in design. I have stayed true to that idea through every stage of the design and production of the Madison Rounders. I wanted to create a deck of cards that somehow reflected my style and ideals through simplicity. The Madison Rounders are beautifully minimal in design, they are bold and strong with only three colors used throughout. They host an Ace of Spades fit for any casino.

"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of amazing decks." - Thomas Jefferson (kind of) Artist's Inspiration: Celebrating the 4th of July was one of my fondest memories. When I was growing up in west Texas, the 4th was a magical day. I distinctively remember my mother would kiss me good-by as I rolled out the front door. I would get on my BMX bike and hit the streets of Canyon, Texas. I would spend the next hour or so riding around the entire city as I would stop at all of my buddy's houses as our small group became a rowdy bike-riding gang, set on enjoying the day and getting a sunburn. After gathering our "the boyz" we made our way to the local park, to not miss any of the festivities. We knew we were close when we caught the smell of burning charcoal and the laughter of other kids as they threw water balloons to cut the edge of the hot summer sun. After spending the entire day drinking Capri Suns and filling our guts with backyard cheeseburgers we set back on the freshly cut grass to watch the fireworks. For those few moments, as the explosion of color took place in the sky, all other thoughts faded away, as the love of my country, friends, and family overtook me. The Made in The USA decks is inspired by those feelings. It is inspired by the smell of the cool summer air the fond memories of frustration as my mother made me put more sunscreen on. I'm so thankful for the freedoms and liberties we have in the United States and hope that even a stack of paper in the form of playing cards can sustain those memories for just a little longer. - Jackson Each deck is sealed and numbered up to 1,776. Art is the figurative expression of human ideological desire, the interlacing of light and shadow, the arrangement of lines, the combination of ideal and reality." "Can you show some personal ideas to others in physical products?" This was the starting point for this project. So let's get started. Behind the casual opportunity is a relatively long period of conception and refinement, I summarize and refine the relationship between light and shadow from classical art, combining modern art style and my personal ideas, techniques and exercises. Finally, on September 1 last year, I completed a version that I was relatively satisfied with, and then I shared it on my personal account. In October last year, I was approached by Xiang Brother about Hana-kiri, he said that he liked my work very much, and asked if I would like to work together to make it really come to fruition. At that time, I was very happy because I wanted my works to be seen by more people, and I also looked forward to everyone's evaluation. After the official launch of this project, we carried out a long period of research and revision. Now that it's done, I hope you guys will like it. Prototype Supreme Red

In February 2019, I launched the first edition of Prototype Playing Cards on Kickstarter. With the help of Hanson Chien, cardists appeared on my videos, and everyone backed and shared my project, the cards were successfully printed and distributed into the hands of people. Now, in May 2020, Prototype Playing Cards are back in a " Supreme Red " edition. The concept is inspired by the box logo culture as seen in Supreme. Design Compared to the last design, three figures are now separated into box shapes to highlight side way tricks and motions. Corner accents are included to accentuate fanning and any other spread techniques. In contrast with my last deck, rounded accents were replaced with square ones in order to adhere to the box logo theme. The face design features custom hearts and diamonds, and the jokers are classic box logos. The separation of the back design creates many distinct figures, maximizing the visual in packet cuts. The box sports a simplistic black finish adorned with a minimalist red type-kit, box logo, and badge. The deck will be printed with vintage stock and legendary finish. They are thinner and more flexible than the previous edition. The same stock is used by Nihilism Playing Cards.

This is a very special 2018 Madison Edition of The Expert at the Card Table by S.W. Erdnase... Artist Neema Atri has taken every one of M.D. Smith's original drawings of Erdnase's hands and modified them by giving Erdnase the tattooed hands of Daniel Madison! It is the perfect addition to any Madison or Erdnase collection. From Madison: "This book does not belong to me. I did not write it, nor did I sketch each image. S. W. Erdnase was the author, M. D. Smith drew each image of the hands of Erdnase and the book originally published in 1902. Ricky Smith suggested that I apply my hand tattoos to each drawing in the book. I did not do that. I asked my friend Neema to do that for me. The cover was designed, and the book was sent to print. I am often seen as an 'Erdnase Capitalist.' But as with everything I do, it is never about the money. This time, it's literally out of my hands, and I receive no profit other than the satisfaction of being part of another opportunity to bring attention to this book. If this is a new edition to your building Erdnase collection, thank you. The Postage Paid deck was originally inspired by a close playing card collector friend named Joseph Pierson. Joseph has one of the most extensive and diverse playing card collections in the world. On Joseph's Instagram feed, he posted images of playing cards from the early 20th century that were written on and sent as postcards. Using cast-off playing cards was a common occurrence before the post office made the minimum size of a parcel 4"x 6". This collection of playing card "postcards" sparked the idea in my brain as I wanted to see the rest of the cards in the incomplete deck Joseph had managed to piece together over the years. I set to task and created my own deck of postcards playing cards, using Joseph's unique deck as the springboard for the idea. Each card in my Postage Paid deck and also in Joseph's postcard collection features a stamp and also postal address of the recipient of the card. As a special feature of the deck, I asked all of the Kings Wild Shorts subscribers to send in a fictitious address that meant something to them so that they could be immortalized within the deck in their own special way. Each card also has a traditional style "postage paid" stamp, canceling out the postage stamp. All 50 states are present with a city representing the state.
