It is used to signal a fire alarm in enclosed areas.You can perform a Self Test this is an important safety feature which has been incorporated into the Sounder VAD Bases when it is switched on it tests itself by checking the actual sound output and flash operation.There are 3 possible outcomes from the test if the transmitter readsA value of 1 Sounder fault this means there was no sound detected in 5 seconds of the sounder being switched on.A value of 2 VAD fault means there is no current being drawn by the LEDs.A value of 3 Sounder and VAD fault where neither of the above elements are operating correctly.If no sound is detected within 5 seconds of the Sounder VAD Bases being switched on it will transmit an analogue value of 1 sounder fault when it is next polled.This feature can also be used during commissioning or periodical maintenance testing. XPander incorporates entirely new designs with respect to the wireless communication system. It communicates with the control panel using the Apollo addressable two-wire power and communications system. The interface communicates with the detection and alarm signalling devices by means of radio waves. The detectors are multistate in that they report normal pre-alarm fire or fault states to the radio base which transmits the information to the interface. The detectors incorporate drift compensation and report any compensation limit occurring. The radio bases and signalling devices are addressable and use a pre-set analogue value to report via the XP95 or Discovery protocol. Apollo Marine DIN-Rail Dual Isolator 55000-770MARThe Marine DIN-Rail Dual Isolator provides in one housing two independent isolators which sense and isolate short-circuits on loops and spurs. This unit needs to be installed in a suitable enclosure Part No. 29600-239240 or equivalent and secured using the end stops.OperationThe isolators are loop-powered and are polarity sensitive. A maximum of twenty detectors may be installed between isolators. When a short-circuit condition exists on either side of the isolator the yellow LED is illuminated.Under normal operating conditions a low impedance is present between the two negative terminals of each isolator channel so that power and signals are passed to the next base in line.If a short-circuit or abnormally low impedance occurs across the loop the fall in voltage is sensed and the isolator isolates the negative supply in the direction of the fault. In this condition the yellow LED of the affected channel will be illuminated. The isolated section of loop is tested using a current pulse every five seconds.
