Nittan EV-PYH-SCI Photoelectric Optical Heat Cat PMulti-Sensor With Short Circuit IsolatorEV-PYH-SCI is an Optical Smoke Heat Category PMulti-sensor Detector with integral Short Circuit Isolator fully compatiblewith Evolution analogue addressable systems.The EV-PYH-SCI comes to the market with some exciting newtechnological advances centred on an enhanced new PY smoke sensing chamber.The sensor includes a spherical feature within the smoke chamber providingunrivalled performance for scattering light plus an Orange LED whichsignificantly improves response across the fire spectrum. The Chamberconstruction is designed to minimise the effect of dirtdust contamination witha fine micromesh made of stainless steel to prevent ingress of even thesmallest insects which can create false alarms.This advanced Multi Sensor is able to combine the benefitsof both optical and heat sensing technologies making it less prone to falsealarms than individual sensing devices. An innovative Nittan designed algorithmreads both signals simultaneously and generates alarm signals from either orboth sensors. The Heat sensor is Category P meaning it can be configured aseither A1R A2S BS or CS heat category.The integral Short Circuit Isolator is bi-directional and inthe event of an external fault will shut down on one side to protect thesystem whilst allowing the device to continue communication with the firealarm control panel from the opposite side. The isolator will self-reset whenthe fault is cleared.The Nittan UB-6-SL-EV Base includes a sliding link toprovide loop continuity when detectors are removed. Nittan EVC-P Photoelectrical Optical Smoke Detector with 375 Ohm ResistorUsing a simple but effective technique the EVC-P Optical Detector incorporates a chamber housing an Infra-Red IR LED light and a photodiode light detector set at an obtuse angle preventing it from seeing the light. When smoke enters the chamber the light bounces off the smoke particles and strikes the photodiode causing it to generate an alarm condition when a set threshold value is met.The EVC-P Optical Detector is therefore more sensitive to larger smoke particles which tend to be caused by smouldering fires rather than fast flaming fires.OperationThe smoke chamber of the EVC-P is constructed so that light cannot enter from outside but smoke can pass through the chamber slots. The EVC-P utilises the light scatter sensing principle. The LED pulses every 8 seconds to maintain a low monitoring current. A quick charge time 20 seconds is also achieved. The detector incorporates an alarm verification function which requires two successive pulses before an alarm is given.The interval between the first and second pulse is automatically reduced to four seconds after the first alarm level is monitored. The detector design provides strong immunity to air velocities contamination and RF interference.
