Filliers Dry Gin 28 Barrel Aged Made using a recipe which is based on the authentic recipe of Firmin Filliers (1888-1965), who was the 3rd generation of Filliers Master Distillers. Made in small batches using traditional copper stills, the gin is rested for several months in medium charred French Limousin oak barrels. These were previously used for Cognac. The barrel aging process leads to a mellowing of the citrus and floral notes in the gin (although still present), and brings out the softer notes present in the gin, adding also touches of vanilla and liquorice. Read more about Filliers Perfect Serve To ensure the flavours present in the gin come through, we recommend a neutral tonic. Our favourite for this one is Three Cents Dry Tonic. Pour 50ml of the gin into a large glass filled with ice, and add 150ml of the tonic. Garnish with a slice of lemon, which perfectly compliments the botanicals in the gin.

Filliers Dry Gin 28 Classic Distilling in small batches, Filliers utilise traditional copper pot stills in the creation of their gin. The distillery itself was established in 1880. The recipe for their Classic gin utilises 28 different botanicals (hence the 28 in the name), and was created in 1928 by Firmin Filliers. Since then, the recipe has been passed down in the family, until, in 2012 it was delicately refined by the Filliers master distillers without compromising the character of the gin. The result is award winning, delicious on its own - and forms the base for their other gins. Whilst the full recipe is a closely guarded secret, some of the botanicals and fresh fruit distillates within the 28 total are known. These are Juniper, hops, angelica root, allspice, fresh oranges, cardamom, ginger, calm sauce, orange blossom, coriander seeds, lemongrass, lavender blossom, gentian root and fresh citrus fruits. The overall result is a deliciously spicy gin with a dry character with spicy notes of pine filled juniper. This is complemented by refreshing citrus aromas. The slightly higher alcohol content than unusual ensures this is a strong & aromatic spirit. We really enjoyed it with both Double Dutch Indian Tonic and their Double Lemon. Fill a long drink glass with ice, and pour in 50ml of gin. Top up with your chosen mixer (around 150ml - but add to your taste). Garnish with a few lemon slices.

Filliers Dry Gin 28 Classic Filliers distilleert in kleine batches en gebruikt traditionele koperen potstills bij het maken van hun gin. De distilleerderij zelf werd opgericht in 1880. Het recept voor hun Classic gin maakt gebruik van 28 verschillende plantaardige ingrediënten (vandaar de 28 in de naam), en werd in 1928 gecreëerd door Firmin Filliers. Sindsdien is het recept in de familie doorgegeven, totdat het in 2012 delicaat werd verfijnd door de Filliers meesterdistilleerders zonder afbreuk te doen aan het karakter van de gin. Het resultaat is bekroond, heerlijk op zichzelf - en vormt de basis voor hun andere gins. Hoewel het volledige recept een goed bewaard geheim is, zijn enkele van de botanische en vers fruitdestillaten binnen het totaal van 28 bekend. Filliers Premium Grain Vodka Lemon Distilleerderij Filliers distilleerde al meer dan vijf generaties en was aanvankelijk slechts een nevenonderneming van hun landbouwonderneming. Het is deze geschiedenis, die dateert uit 1880, die ervoor zorgt dat Filliers heerlijke en geliefde drankjes maakt. Ze doen zoveel mogelijk ter plaatse. Ze pompen hun eigen bronwater, ontginnen het graan, creëren hun eigen fruit- en kruidendistillaten, fermenteren, distilleren en rijpen. In 2006 verwierf Filliers het lokale merk 'Van Hoorebeke'. Op dat moment was dit het oudste gedistilleerde merk in België en dateerde uit 1792. Zij waren de makers van de eerste Belgische Vodka. Door hun ervaring en de erfenis van hun overname te combineren, creëerde Filliers Master Distillers een nieuwe drievoudig gedistilleerde graanwodka, die wordt gedistilleerd in Deinze, België. Nadat ze het origineel hadden gemaakt, lanceerden ze ook twee gearomatiseerde edities. Dit is hun Lemon-editie die ze maken met hun originele graanwodka en een destillaat van zongerijpte citroenen en citrussap. Met zijn lichtgele kleur is de neus helder en verfrissend - vol citroenschil en grapefruit. De smaken zijn knapperig, met een complexe mix van citrusaroma's afkomstig van limoen, citroen en roze pompelmoes. Filliers 10 Years Single Malt Whisky Distilling for over five generations, the Filliers distillery was initially only a side venture to their farming venture. It's this history, dating from 1880 that ensures Filliers create delicious and well loved drinks. They do as much on-site as they can. They pump their own spring water, gind the grain, create their own fruit and herb distillates, ferment, distill and age. Their Single Malt Whisky is a special drink. It's the oldest whisky from Belgium which has been rested and aged exclusively on ex-sherry barrels made from European Oak. Like the whole of their range of drinks, Filliers take care, and time creating their whisky. At least ten years in fact! This time in the barrels ensures maximum flavour in the final drink. As could be expected from 10 years in ex-sherry casks, the aroma had strong notes of Sherry to it. These are joined with both floral and dried fruit aromas. On the palate the balance is perfect. Spicy, dark chocolate, and toffee all blend with wood, walnut & orange flavours. It's this history, dating from 1880 that ensures Filliers create delicious and well loved drinks. They do as much on-site as they can. They pump their own spring water, gind the grain, create their own fruit and herb distillates, ferment, distill and age. In 2006 Filliers acquired a local brand called 'Van Hoorebeke'. At that this, this was the oldest spirit brand in Belgium and dated back to 1792. They were the creators of the first Belgian Vodka. Combining their experience and the legacy of their acquisition, Filliers Master Distillers created a new triple distilled grain Vodka, which is distilled in Deinze, Belgium.  After creating the original, they also launched two flavoured editions. This, their Wild Strawberry they create using their original grain vodka, and a distillate of Belgian Wild Strawberries. These grow only in Belgian forests, and result in a sweeter, fruity addition to Filliers Vodka range. With its delicate pink colour, this vodka has a unique sweet aroma full of strawberry and cranberry notes. The flavour is also full of sweet, fruity strawberries which are balanced by the pure grain aromas. The drink finishes long and fruity, leaving a dry aftertaste. More from Filliers Perfect Serve As with the original this is really versatile and can easily be used in the mix or to savour and enjoy, pure on the rocks. For something delicious try a Wild Strawberry Cosmo Cocktail. Chill a martini glass by filling with some crushed ice. Whilst cooling, take a cocktail shaker filled with ice and add 50ml of the strawberry vodka, 30ml of Cointreau, 30ml of cranberry juice, and 20ml of fresh lime juice. Shake well. Empty the ice from the martini glass and strain your cosmo into the glass. Garnish with a fre fresh strawberries.

Fill a mule mug with ice and add 50ml of vodka, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice (you can use the wedge as a garnish after). Utilising this experience, in 2018 Filliers expanded their range of gins, and introduced their Pink gin. This uses their Filliers Dry Gin 28 as a base, and is enhanced and softened with the addition of fresh raspberries and goji berries. The Goji berry has a reputation as a superfood, and is said to repair muscles, protect against illness and most important of all, to calm your soul. Whilst we can't attest to any of these benefits by drinking their gin, we do know it adds a delicious flavour! The addition of raspberry juice blends with the goji berries and vanilla from the original recipe. It provides a delicious and engaging palette of fruity flavours, as well as ensuring a delightfully fresh pink colour. Overall this is a mildy spiced gin with a touch of sweetness which is given by the raspberries. Filliers Dry Gin 28 Tangerine Taking their classic Dry Gin 28, Filliers have blended this with delicious mediterranean citrus from valencia to create this gin. They only use tangerines which are harvested between November and January. This ensures they have had the most time in the sun ripening, ensuring the best taste. Distilled up to five times to ensure the best quality of gin, this really is a deliciously refreshing addition to the Filliers range. Whilst it is still a spicy gin (it used the classic gin as a base), the spice notes take more of a backing role - with the citrus elements really being the star of this gin. This is a well rounded gin that generously highlights the different citrus nuances of the tangerines. Whilst its easily enjoyed the whole year round, it definitely makes the perfect summer drink. It works well with both a neutral tonic, but also very well with Fentimans Valencian Orange Tonic, which really brings the orange flavours out. Fill a long drink glass with ice, and pour in 50ml of the gin. Fill the glass with 150ml of the tonic. Garnish with a slice or two of orange.
