Deze creatie is een reis om de 'ongrijpbare' vijfde smaak vast te leggen: Umami, of hartigheid. Deze Umami-smaak bezit een mysterieuze kwaliteit die onze zintuigen prikkelt en een weelderige smaak, complexiteit en diepte onthult. Ze hebben vaten geselecteerd uit de vier hoeken van Schotland – distilleerderijen in het binnenland en aan de kust, die op het hoogtepunt van hun rijping met de hand zijn geplukt vanwege hun unieke umami-profiel. Onder deze whisky's bevinden zich enkele whisky's van de zogenaamde 'spookdistilleerderijen'. Dit was beslist geen gemakkelijke opgave. Normaal gesproken slaagt slechts 1 op de 10.000 vaten erin een fles Johnnie Walker Blue Label te verwerken, maar voor deze editie slaagt slechts één op de 25.000 vaten erin dit ongrijpbare karakter tot leven te brengen. Dit is een whisky die perfect in balans is – door zowel de ervaring van een Master Blender als een Master Chef. Het is een prachtig uitgebalanceerde whisky met zowel zoete als hartige smaken. Je ervaart tonen van bloedsinaasappelen en rode bessen, gecombineerd met zoete houtkruiden, een vleugje gerookt vlees en een vleugje zout en peper. Dit leidt de smaakpapillen naar een zoete, fruitige afdronk. Meer van Johnnie Walker Perfect Serve We vonden het vooral lekker dat het eenvoudig werd geserveerd, op kamertemperatuur - omdat we merkten dat de smaken meer tot leven kwamen in de mond. Echter. zoals bij alle kwaliteitswhisky's: geniet ervan zoals jij dat wilt! De chef-kok en meesterdistilleerder raden aan om hiervan met kaviaar te genieten. The creamy and slightly briny caviar matches the whisky perfectly, as the inherent cacao and dark fruit tannin in the whisky pair with the savoury nature of the caviar"
