V2C Navy Strength Gin Geïnspireerd door Sail Amsterdam, heeft V2C een Navy Strength gin gemaakt. Hoewel alle V2C-gins dezelfde, zorgvuldig geselecteerde botanische basisproducten gebruiken, heeft elk hun eigen persoonlijkheid. Jeneverbes, want het is jenever is de eerste, en dit wordt snel gevolgd door kardemom, koriander en gember. Dit geeft V2C zijn karakteristieke pittige achtergrond. Deze worden afgerond met engelwortel, citroen, sinaasappel, zoethout en laurierblad, die in combinatie een pittige gin geven met een ronde citrussmaak. Voor de Navy Strength wordt er tijdens het verdunnen minder water toegevoegd - wat resulteert in een hoger alcoholpercentage dan bij hun Dry Gin. Hoewel de plantaardige ingrediënten hetzelfde kunnen zijn als de klassieke droge gin, heeft de Navy Strength een eigen smaak en karakter. Het hogere alcoholgehalte zorgt voor een romigheid in de mond en zorgt voor een smaakpunch. Een pittige drank, die overheerst in de neus en de smaak, maar die wordt afgerond door een vleugje citrus in het midden van de mond die verzacht in de afdronk. V2C Classic Dutch Dry Gin V2C takes pride in its home (Amsterdam), but like the Dutch of old, looks to the wider world when thinking of ingredients. They ensure that the gin is created to the highest standards, and use ingredients harvested from across the world. With their name, they indicate the intent behind the gin. Four friends founded V2C, and it was named after the address they lived during their studies, the famous Victor de Stuersstraat 2C in Maastricht. To this end, the gin was created to encourage lively conversation and good times with friends. With their Classic gin, they pay homage to the more classic gin flvaours, but with a definite V2C twist. They use the freshest juniper, orange, licorice, laurel and St John’s Wort, which they subtly spice with coriander, cardamom, lemon and ginger. This is a gin which is definitely juniper-forward (another "classic" part to the gin), which is joined perfectly with soft spice and tangy fruit. This brings a subtle, light complexity to the drink. The taste has a lot of oily juniper which coats the mouth perfectly. Pine and cardamom spice are balanced by refreshing citrus notes. Theres also a hint of vanilla flower which creeps in. Pour in 50ml of the gin, and top up the glass with 150 - 200ml of Fentimans Premium Tonic Water. Garnish with a slice of fresh ginger, fresh lemon and a few juniper berries. V2C Barrel Aged Dutch Dry Gin Met hun Barrel Aged gin, de nieuwste in hun assortiment, heeft V2C een gin gecreëerd die bedoeld is om van te genieten. "Geen haast, geen onderbrekingen, niet scrollen of swipen. Gewoon de waarheid in een glas dat je onverdeelde aandacht opeist". Dit is een gin met een jeneverbes-voorwaarts smaakprofiel, ruimschoots ondersteund door andere plantaardige ingrediënten zoals engelwortel, kardemom, koriander, gember, laurier, zoethout, citroen en sinaasappel. Na distillatie rust deze minimaal zes maanden op Amerikaanse eikenhouten vaten. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de gin een aantal interessante eiken-vanille-tonen en een aardsheid ontwikkelt. Deze mix van plantaardige ingrediënten en rusten in het vat geeft een smaak van gember en jeneverbes met een vleugje peper. Kaneel en een cederwarmte van het vat worden ook vergezeld door een zachte karamelzoetheid. Laurier en kardemom komen ook door, maar zonder al te veel aanwezigheid. Gegoten in een glas, en eenvoudig geserveerd met een ijsblokje of twee. Voeg voor een langere, meer verfrissende drank 50 ml toe aan een glas gevuld met ijs. V2C Barrel Aged Dutch Dry Gin With their Barrel Aged gin, the latest in their range, V2C have created a gin meant to be savoured. "No rush, no interruptions, no scrolling or swiping. Just truth in a glass that demands your undivided attention". This is a gin which has a juniper-forward flavour profile, amply supported by other botanicals which are angelica, cardamom, coriander, ginger, laurel, liquorice, lemon and orange. After distillation, this is rested on American oak casks for at least six months. This ensures the gin develops some interesting oaky-vanilla notes, and an earthiness. This blend of botanicals, and resting in the barrel gives a flavour of ginger and juniper with a hint of pepper. Cinnamon and a cedar heat from the cask are also joined by a soft caramel sweetness. Laurel and cardamom also come through, but without too much presence. Truly a gin to be savoured, with its multi-faceted flavour profile sure to give full enjoyment in a glass. V2C Navy Strength Gin Inspired by Sail Amsterdam, V2C have created a Navy Strength gin. Whilst all of the V2C gins use the same, carefully selected base botanicals in their creation, each has its own personality. Juniper, as it's gin is the first, and this is quickly followed with cardamom, coriander and ginger. This gives V2C its background signature spicy. These are rounded out with angelica root, lemon, orange, liquorice, and bay leaf, which when combined give a spicy gin with a rounded citrus flavour. For the Navy Strength, less water is added during dilution - resulting in a higher alcohol content than with their Dry Gin. Whilst the botanicals may be the same as the classic dry gin, the Navy Strength has a taste, and character of its own. The higher alcohol content ensures a creaminess in the mouth and packs a flavour punch.  A spicy drink, which is prevalent on the nose and the flavour, but one which is rounded our by a mid palate hit of citrus which softens into the aftertaste. V2C Orange Dutch Dry Gin For their Orange variant, V2C have taken their Classic Dutch Dry gin and added additional oranges, and a hint of red chilli. This ensures an extra zesty variation, with an interesting kick from the chill. The spices from the original recipe help to balance out what would otherwise by overwhelmingly citrus. This allows the juniper to reassert itself as it should be in a gin! This is very much a gin which does what it says on the bottle.... heavy on the tangy orange notes in aroma and flavour. A hint of ginger and chilli help to cut through this, and as the drink progresses pine from the juniper builds slowly. This is a gin perfect for those long summer evenings, or reminiscing over that long ago (or so it might feel) holiday!
