Six Dogs Blue Gin Met hun Blue Gin hebben Six Dogs een klassieke droge gin gecreëerd met een intrigerende blauwe kleur. ('Blue' was ook de naam van de kleinste van de originele Six Dogs waaraan de distilleerderij zijn naam ontleent). De opvallende blauwe kleur is volledig natuurlijk en wanneer een goede tonic wordt toegevoegd, verandert de blauwe kleur in een heerlijk roze. Magie! Maar het gaat niet alleen om de show! Deze gin heeft een delicaat bloemig aroma. Rose pelargonium en andere Karoo-botanische ingrediënten geven de gin een heerlijk licht en bloemig karakter. Naast het licht bloemige karakter heeft het hints van vers gesneden luzerne (alfalafa) die perfect passen bij de rozenpelargonium. Een klassieke droge gin, met een Zuid-Afrikaanse bloemige twist. Goed om te weten: Omdat de blauwe kleur geheel natuurlijk is, zal deze na verloop van tijd verkleuren. Om de prachtige kleur te behouden, koel en uit direct zonlicht bewaren. Six Dogs Karoo Gin Bij het maken van hun eerste Gin namen Six Dogs de tijd. Meer dan twee jaar zelfs, en meer dan 180 verschillende recepten voordat deze heerlijke gin klaar was. Historically, Hertfordshire (a county just to the north of London) was the hunting ground of the British Royal family, and is still relatively rural with numerous forests. They create their gins using locally sourced premium wheat spirit. Where possible, they use locally grown and sourced botanicals, and have even started growing some of their own botanicals on the farm in their recently created botanical garden. This attention to detail ensures a quality, and unique range of gins which they can rightfully be proud of! Each of their bottles is a piece of art itself. With this gin, they capture a marmalade cat (ginger) lying on a slice of bread peeling oranges - along with a rabbit and a jar of marmalade. This isn't just called a Marmalade gin due to the citrus uses in its creation, they actually use real marmalade! This is created using by the team at the distillery themselves. They use pink grapefruits, seville oranges and the peel from blood oranges in it's creation. This gives the gin a rich flavour, with an orange colour to it. This is entirely natural, and comes from the marmalade itself. As well as the marmalade, the other botanicals include juniper berries, coriander seed, licorice and angelica root, as well as more citrus flavours from orange and lemon peel. As you would expect, the flavour and aroma is sweet and zesty, exactly as you would expect from marmalade! However, if you want to increase the citrus flavours, try using their Valencian Orange Tonic. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a fresh orange wheel. It also works well in a spritz, when mixed with soda water, or even Prosecco. With this gin, they capture a Panda in China, carrying baskets of fresh raspberries and lychees. In creating their Lychee & Raspberry gin, they utilise a base gin which contains 8 vibrant botanicals, including fresh garden mint and whole sicilian lemons. They then allow this to rest for a week, over fresh lychees. This imparts the flavours, and sweet fragrance from the fruit in the gin. They then blend local raspberry juice, which adds its pink colour and a sharp refreshing bite which perfectly balances the sweetness of the lychees. Whilst there is a delicate sweetness to this gin, there is no added sugars. The sweetness itself comes purely from the ingredients used in its creation.  The name says it all with this gin! The other botanicals support the stars of the show, which are the Lychees and Raspberries. As mentioned, there is a sweetness too, but not at all over-powering and feels very natural. With this gin, they capture an elegantly dressed stag (a Hart is an old name for a stag, and is why the county is named as it is). With their Hertfordshire Dry gin, they have tried to create a gin which answered the question “What would our county taste like distilled?”. They have utilised distillery grown lemon balm and lemon vernena - which gives earthy, vegetal notes. Locally sourced Hertfordshire Lavender ensures an elegant floral note. There is also a touch of smoke and spice from black and green cardamom.  The result is a classic gin, with a delicate floral twist - totally unique to Hertfordshire! Fun Fact: Emma was born and raised in Hertfordshire, and Gary grew up literally around the corner from the distillery - so it's great to have a 'home grown' gin in our range! However, it also works particularly well in a Red Snapper Cocktail (the gin version of a Bloody Mary). Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add 60ml of the gin, 120ml of tomato juice, 15ml lemon juice, 7.5ml of sugar syrup, 4 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce, 7 drops of hot sauce, and a pinch of celery salt and black pepper. Shake well, and strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a stick of celery (keep the leaves on the top!)

Zoals je zou kunnen raden, was het nogal verrassende resultaat een plakje mango en gebarsten zwarte peper. Copper in the Clouds vond dit bijzonder goed klinken, maar waarom zou je stoppen bij slechts een garnering! Ze hebben daarom verse rijpe mango en de beste peperkorrels in hun gin gegoten. De gin zelf is heerlijk fruitig, met een duidelijke frisse mangosmaak. De zwarte peper is subtiel en overheerst de gin helemaal niet, maar prikkelt eerder de smaakpapillen! Two Stacks Irish Whiskey - Dram in a Can In creating Two Stacks, there was a desire to blend not just whiskey, but also the very best of contemporary Irish flavour and the real heritage of distilling. Historically in Ireland, merchants and grocers would blend and age their own whiskey blends. They would select from distilleries and then chose their own casks in which to age. Over the last 150 years this heritage has slowly been on the decline. Two Stacks wanted to change this. Relying on traditional techniques, they chose whiskies, blend and cask. Then through taste and nose they decide when the Whiskey has reached its maturity and then empty and hand label each bottle. For their Dram in a Can Two Stacks wanted to create a truly distinctive Irish Whiskey, but one for the contemporary palate. To do this they created a blend of grain whiskey's aged in virgin oak and bourbon oak casks. A Pot still whiskey which has been aged in Oloroso Sherry Casks. And finishes with a bourbon cask matured double-distilled malt, and a peated malt aged in bourbon casks. On the nose there is a sweetness, joined by warm butter and a hint of peach tea. It is delicately sweet and spicy whiskey on the palate, with blackberry notes, butterscotch and toasted oak. The finish is long, with a playful warm honey note. Le Calvados de Christian Drouin - Selection Sinds 1960 produceren drie generaties van de familie Drouin kwaliteitscalvados in de regio Pays d'Auge in Normandië in Frankrijk. Het begon met Christian Drouin senior, die in 1960 eigenaar werd van een boerderij in de buurt van Honfleur. De boerderij werd beplant met cider-appelbomen en Christian besloot zijn eigen Calvados te produceren. In samenwerking met een gerenommeerde lokale distilleerder (Pierre Pivet) bracht hij meer dan 20 jaar door met het distilleren van zijn eerste Calvados, en liet hij deze rusten in ex-sherry-, port- of calvadosvaten in de bijgebouwen van de boerderij. In 1969 kwam Christan Drouin Junior bij het bedrijf en in 1979 waren de voorraden calvados voldoende om met de marketing te beginnen. In 2004 trad de derde generatie (Guillaume Drouin) toe. Tegenwoordig is het Guillaume die samen met zijn vader samen de Calvados mengt. Hun Selction-editie kwam voort uit de wens van Christian Drouin om een Calvados te produceren die goed in balans was in de mond, terwijl hij een intens fruitig boeket had. Dit wordt bereikt door de uitgesproken, scherpe frisheid van perenperen te combineren met de intense zachtheid van ciderappels. Nadat deze vruchten in een kolom still zijn gedistilleerd, worden ze gerijpt in goed gebruikte vaten. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de subtiele balans van de Calvados en de verleidelijke geur van vers fruit behouden blijven. Voeg in een cocktailshaker gevuld met ijs 50 ml Calvados, 20 ml suikersiroop, 25 ml citroensap en 1 eiwit toe (of indien gewenst 5 - 6 scheutjes Fee Brothers Fee Foam). Vervolgens werd het in 1986 op de Europese markt gelanceerd - en in 1994 in de rest van de wereld. Sindsdien is het uitgegroeid tot 's werelds best verkochte passievruchtenlikeur. Leuk weetje: Hoewel Passoã er misschien Portugees uitziet, betekent de naam eigenlijk niets! In het Portugees is passie 'paixão' en passievrucht 'maracujá'! De likeur zelf heeft een rode kleur en bevat naast echt passievruchtensap uit Brazilië ook mango, ananas en kokosnoot. Hierdoor krijgt het een heerlijke rijke tropische smaak. Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey Met een familiegeschiedenis in distilleren die teruggaat tot Walter Teeling in 1782, was het geen verrassing toen Jack en Stephen Teeling in 2015 een distilleerderij in Dublin openden. In feite is de Teeling-distilleerderij nu de eerste nieuwe distilleerderij in Dublin sinds meer dan 125 jaar . Ze wilden een eigentijds merk creëren, waarbij ze, met het oog op de toekomst, het verleden in de gaten houden. Heffron 5Y Panama Original Rum Heffron Rum was first producted in 2019, marking the 100 year anniversary of the journey the American ship Heffron made through Panama, transporting Czechoslovak legionnaires back to their homeland. It pays tribute to their bravery and determination, fighting for the freedom that we have in Europe today. Heffron rum is a partnership between a rum distillery in Las Cabras de Pesé in Panama and the Green Tree distillery in the Czech Republic, which also happens to be the oldest distillery in Europe. Francisco Fernández, also known as “Don Pancho” is the master blender and spiritual father of Heffron and with more than 50 years experience has created a delicious selection of Heffron aged rums and rum elixirs which are distilled and matured in Panama before being transported to the Green Tree Distillery for further maturation and bottling. Heffron 5Y Panama Original Rum is aged for 5 years in American white oak barrels and has a delicate, slightly sweet taste with distinctive hints of vanilla and caramel. It has woody tones from the time spent in the barrel. More from Heffron Perfect Serve Delicious served neat, or with a ice cube.

Mary Read Rum Named after a famous pirate, Mary Read rum is a 100% Dutch, handmade spiced rum - made with organic, natural ingredients. Mary Read herself was born in the UK in 1685, and was one of only two females to be convicted of piracy at the height of the "Golden Age of Piracy" (1650's - 1730's). She was raised by her mother as a boy so that she could receive her fathers inheritance. She worked as a skipper's servant in the English Navy under the name of Mark,  and fought against the French in the War of the Spanish Succession. This resulted in her arriving in Belgium where she met and fell in love with a Flemish colleague in the cavalry. After marrying, they started the inn De Drie Hoefijzers, near the Castle of Breda. Sadly, after a number of succesful years her husband was stabbed and died. Once again Mary took on the name of Mark and enlisted as a man in the Dutch Navy and left for the West Indies. On the way they were ambushed by pirates - and, eventually Mary become known as Bloody Mary.  Mary died in 1721, after being captured in Jamaica with the entire crew and sentenced to death. As a tribute to Mary Read, its fitting that this is a robust rum. It is slightly sweet and is deliciously creamy in its taste. It has delicious spice flavours coming from cinnamon, allspice, mace and also hints of butterscotch. Perfect Serve This is a delicious and versatile rum which works perfectly enjoyed on its own, over ice, or in the mix. Try mixing 50ml of the rum with 150ml of Cola (or even Cherry Cola), for a deliciously refreshing longer drink. Include lots of ice and garnish with a wedge of lime.

Blacks Golden Rum Gelegen aan de Wild Atlantic Way (een schilderachtige route in het zuiden van Ierland), werd The Blacks Brewery opgericht in 2013. Het is een familiebedrijf en is eigendom van en wordt geëxploiteerd door Sam & Maudeline Black (vandaar de naam!). Hun ethos was om (aanvankelijk) bieren te creëren die geen massamarkt waren. Ze wilden producten met passie en persoonlijkheid. In 2015 besloten ze uit te breiden en voegden ze een ultramoderne distilleerderij toe, waardoor ze ook gedistilleerde dranken konden produceren. Hun eerste was gin, die in 2018 werd gevolgd met de eerste Irish Rum en in 2020 met whisky. Deze cross-over stelt hen ook in staat om hun bieren te laten rijpen in gedistilleerde vaten, en vice versa, waardoor ze extra smaakdiepten aan hun drankjes toevoegen. Met hun Golden Rum schreef Blacks in 2018 geschiedenis door de allereerste Irish Rum te creëren. Dit wordt van begin tot eind gedistilleerd in hun distilleerderij in Kinsale met behulp van de beste suikerrietmelasse. Dit werd uitzonderlijk goed ontvangen op de wereldmarkt en won goud bij de World Rum Awards - geen geringe prestatie voor de eerste Irish Rum! De inspiratie achter de rum was de geschiedenis van piraten die in de 18e eeuw de Ierse kust plunderden en plunderden. Een duidelijke door mannen gedomineerde 'business', totdat Anne Bonny verscheen en de beroemdste vrouwelijke piraat ter wereld werd. En waar kwam ze vandaan... nou ja, Kinsale natuurlijk, het huis van Blacks. Met hun rum spelen Blacks ook niet volgens de regels, ze zijn innovatief in hun benadering van distilleren en creëren een assortiment waarvan ze vinden dat ze hun naam rechtvaardigen (en negeren trends in de markt). Deze aanpak leidt tot eigenzinnige en heerlijke smaken die je elders misschien niet vindt. Hun Golden Rum wordt gerijpt in enkele Ierse malt whiskyvaten (die de 12 jaar oude Irish Whiskey van Blacks hebben gerijpt), waardoor het een ongelooflijk robuust karakter heeft. De neus zal dessertliefhebbers onmiddellijk aanspreken, met aroma's van butterscotch, bonoffee pie en vanille maple syrup - evenals onderliggend gekonfijt fruit. In de mond is hij fluweelzacht, met rijke toffeesmaken aangevuld met mahonie, met karamel omhulde noten en een fruitige, lichte tot medium body. Verrukkelijk! Meer van Blacks Perfect Serve Dit is heerlijk met ijs en werkt ook goed in de mix. Probeer de modieuze piratencocktail. Voeg in een mengglas gevuld met ijs 60 ml rum, 2 scheutjes Angostura bitters, 10 ml water en 10 ml suikersiroop toe. Roer goed en zeef in een rocks glas. Garneer met een vleugje sinaasappelschil.
