Wildjac Natural Botanical Spirit Based in the Wyre Forest, to the South West of Birmingham in the UK, Wildjac strive to produce a range of sustainable and eco-friendly premium botanical spirits. To this end, they hand-craft their drinks using only 100% natural ingredients which (where possible) they source locally. In this, their first non-alcoholic spirit, they have created a drink which captures all of the flavours from the botanicals used, in their purest form, just with no alcohol! In it's creation they carefully selected a number of botanicals; Lemon Verbena, Oak Bark, Wood Sage, Rosemary, Lemon Thyme, Nettle, Chamomile, Lemon Zest, Dandelion, Birch and Mulberry Leaf. On the nose this has a brightness to it, clean and crisp - with zesty citrus notes. The flavour is smooth, well rounded and full of herbal flavours. These develop in the mouth, leaving to a finish with has a citrus freshness and a touch of 'green' from grassy verbena. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the Botanical Spirit, and 100 - 150ml of the tonic. Stir gently and garnish with a slice of cucumber and a sprig of rosemary.

Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Following the launch of their classic gin in 2010, Edinburgh gin have continued to create perfectly blended drinks using their original gin as the base. They still keep their heritage at the fore, with their gins being made in their West End and Leith distilleries in Edinburgh (Scotland, UK). This is a full-strength, and less sweet expression of their much-loved Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur Taking their base classic gin, they post-infuse combining natural ingredients, rhubarb and ginger to create this deliciously spicy gin. Juniper-forward, this gin is full of natural flavours. There is a definite aroma of rhubarb which is complemented by spiciness. Poetic License Old Tom Gin Reminiscent of the types of gin that were enjoyed in the 1800's, Old Tom Gin's are sweeter - and have been making a come back recently. With theirs, the Poetic License Distillery in Sunderland (North UK) have made a gin which is sweeter than their Dry Gin, but with a touch of pepper. The botanicals they use enhance the sweeter taste, and the oak casks they use continue to add additional flavour and colour. The inclusion of hibiscus and rose petals infuses their distinct character within the gin, also adding a delightful rose gold tinge. On the nose this gin is quite aromatic, with distinct floral aromas. However, with its juniper back note there is no forgetting this is a gin! Lonewolf Cloudy Lemon Gin A haze of gin and sharp citrus. Like any wolf, this one is no different. This gin is ruled by the full moon, it's macerated in fresh Sicilian lemon peel for seven days before its released into the wild. Handcrafted in their distillery in Aberdeen (North Scotland, UK - and a part of the Brewdog family), the botanicals in this gin tell the own story. Scotch Pine (which compliments and bolsters the juniper), Tuscan juniper, grapefruit peel, lemon peel, pink peppercorn, orris root, angelica, mace, cardamom, lemongrass, kaffir lime, almonds, coriander, and Lavender. With a really strong lemon nose and a merciless juniper kick, this wolf is a crossbreed to be reckoned with. The bottle is pretty spectacular too, with the trademark punk wolf (obviously the rare lemon variety) on the front of the bottle. For their distinctly coloured Damson & Raspberry Gin, Wildjac have taken inspiration from the many fresh fruits availabile close to their distillery. They use Angelica, orange, organic autumn bliss raspberries and organic shropshire prune damsons from the Augernik Fruit Farm, juniper and coriander. This gives a gin with a delicious red hue, along with rich berry and juniper aromas. On the palate the fruit is the real star, with juicy sharp damsons, and sweet ripe raspberry flavours. For their Natural Dry Gin, Wildjac have taken inspiration from deep within their home, the Wyre Forest. Using Douglas Fir, Coriander, Liquorice, Elderberry, Chamomile, Juniper, Angelica, Lemon Balm, Fresh Orange, Fresh Lemon and Thyme they have created a gin which takes the drinker right to the heart of the forest with them. On the nose this is zesty, with lively herbaceous green notes from the juniper and douglas fir. On the palate the classic notes of a gin, juniper, can be found here and are complimented by thyme, douglas fir and lemon balm (all of which are locally foraged). These strong and big botanical flavours are perfectly complimented and rounded out by chamomile and angelica. Mermaid Spiced Rum Presented in a stunning "fish-scale" like bottle with a cork stopper, this rum is hand-crafted on the Isle of Wight (a small island off the south coast of the UK).  Mermaid Spiced Rum is a carefully selected blend of sugar cane and molasses rum from Trinidad and the Dominican Republic which have been aged between 2-5 years in oak bourbon whiskey barrels. On its arrival into the distillery, the blend is infused with local fruits and spices found on the Isle of Wight. The botanicals include rock samphire, fresh white cherry and apricot, honey from their own beehives and black salt from their floodtides. It is gently spiced using local holy grass, cassia and vanilla, resulting in a smooth yet complex rum with a hint of sea air, delicate caramel notes and a vibrant fruity spice. Did you know? For a Mermaid Spiced Rum & Ginger, pour 50ml rum into a glass filled with ice and top up with ginger ale (we like it with Fentimans Ginger Ale). Bloedlemoen Handcrafted Gin Pronounced ‘Blue’d Le Moon’, this is a South African gin which is made from the luscious Tarocco Blood Orange. It proudly calls out that it is the "first Blood Orange Gin" in the World. The story of this gin starts in 2015, when three food and drink industry specialists got together. They wanted to create a refreshing and delicious gin, one which was layered with the warmth of selected spices. Ensuring a good relationship with their suppliers is important, and they source their fruit from their selected growing partners based in the Western Cape of South Africa.  To create their contemporary gin they use a carefully selected blend of 10 different botanicals. Using a combination of maceration and vapour infusion (depending on the hardiness of the boanical) they extract maximum flavour and aroma.  The botanicals they chose are Juniper, Blood Orange, Orange Peel, Grains of Paradise, Coriander, Cassia bark, Nutmeg, Liquorice Root, Angelica Root and Cardamom. These blend to create the refreshing, yet warming gin they were originally looking for, On the nose this gin is full of citrus notes and a light piney juniper aroma, a hint of spice also greets you. On the palate, the blood orange is also present, along with a sweet spiciness of nutmeg which combines with Cassia and Grains of paradise perfectly adding to the mouthfeel. Chivas Regal 12 Years Whisky Produced by Chivas Brothers (which is owned by Pernod Ricard) at the Strathisla distillery in Keith, Moray in Speyside (Scotland, UK). This distillery was founded in 1786, and is the oldest continuously operating Highland distillery. Their 12 Years Aged Whisky is a blended Scotch Whisky, and the market-leader in the 12 year and over aged whisky category in Europe and Asia Pacific. It's made of a blend of malt and grain scotch whiskies and is their signature blend. It was also the first in the family of Chivas whiskies to have been released after prohibition. Known and loved flavours which are iconic in the Speyside region are at the heart of this whisky. Wild heather, sweet honey and crisp orchard fruits are the result of years of experience from the master blenders. This taste has been maintained since the pioneers of blended Scotch whisky (the founders of Chivas Regal, John and James Chivas) first started blending. Within the blend itself you will find the finest mail and grain whiskies. Strathisla single malt, Strathclyde single grain and yet more are blended to create a whisky known for its smoothness. A variety of different casks are also sourced for the maturation of the 12-year-old whiskies, again - ensuring the quality. On the nose this whisky gives the signature aromas, and is particularly aromatic. Wild herbs, heather, honey and orchard fruits all greet the nose. On the palate, this is rich, round and deliciously creamy. Honey and ripe pears come through, and are also joined by vanilla, hazelnuts and even butterscotch. Hayman's Old Tom Gin In 1863 when James Burrough, opened a small distillery in Chelsea, London. He experimented with a number of gin recipes, giving them names such as Burrough’s, Olde Chelsey, Beefeater and Black Cat. It was James who pioneered the London Dry gin which is known and loved today (at that time, London's gin of choice was Old Tom). It was this which led to the development of the Beefeater Gin brand.... but it also spurred the Hayman's gin brand. The current Master Distiller of Hayman's (Christopher Hayman) is the great grandson of James Burrough. Whilst not common in modern times, with their Old Tom gin Hayman's pay homage to the prevalent gin which was enjoyed when their family started creating gin. The generous quantities of botanicals which Hayman's use in their family recipe ensure a bold citrus and juniper pine character. Smooth and delicate it has a subtle but defining sweetness (as is common in Old Tom gins). More from Hayman's Perfect Serve Old Tom gin's, and Hayman's in particular work very well in cocktails such as the Martinez, Tom Collins and Ramos Gin Fizz. However, it also works particularly well in a more classic Gin & Tonic. We recommend enjoying this with a Lemon mixer, as this cuts through the sweetness and compliments the citrus notes in the gin. The Mayor of Exploration: Rynbende Vintage Genever Introduction Rynbende have a history going back more than 200 years. The distillery was established in 1793, by Simon Rybende in the world's Jenever capital, Schiedam. A former sailor, he turned to business, and distilling, and was even appointed the Mayor of Schiedam. A New Generation of Rynbende The Rynbende brand has had highs and lows during it's history and was re-ignited again in 2022, when the original Rynbende recipes were passed down to another generation through inheritance . Now called Rynbende Spirits, the focus is on producing high end spirits, with a selective distribution network (of which Gin Fling is happy to be one). Authentic Rynbended Botanicals Rynbender Vintage Genever was the first spirit to be launched and based on an old recipe found in the inherited recipe book. 'The Mayor of Exploration' is an old genever and is an ode to the glory days of the original distillery, containing authentic botanicals (peppermint leaf, angelica seed, cinnamon, clove, hyssop, angelica root, cardamom and mace) which gave it it's signature taste, setting it apart from the competition. Traditional Distilling Rynbende is distilled according to the Schiedam tradition from 1902, which produces a purer drink. It is made with malt wine that has been aged for 3 years in American oak barrels, and with smoky malt whiskey and vodka aged in European oak barrels for 25 years.
