Story
The game is set in the near future, and the vision of those times presented by the authors is not optimistic. Countless wars, uncontrolled capitalism and corruption of the authorities led to the depletion of most of the resources on Earth and irreversible pollution of the environment. The destruction of the human species seems only a matter of time, so a group of still functioning governments along with four influential corporations activate the Genesis program.
This initiative involves sending a spacecraft on a mission to find a new home for the human species. We play the role of the captain of this unit. During the campaign, we quickly discover that the program organizers did not reveal the whole truth to us.
Gameplay
Genesis Alpha One platform, we observe the events from the eyes of the protagonist. The galaxy is generated in a procedural manner, so there are always new challenges ahead. The explored corners of space are full of aggressive alien races and we often have to repel their attacks on our ship. There were also expeditions to the planetary surfaces. The fight is like in classic FPS games, and there are also extensive strategic elements. It is necessary to search for and gather resources, expand the ship with new sections and manage the crew. In addition, cloning your subordinates plays a key role (useful when one of them dies). During this procedure, it is also possible to modify their DNA codes and attach elements taken from foreign races to them, which allows us to create new life forms.
