Miscanthus 'Strictus Dwarf' - 11cm
Miscanthus 'Strictus Dwarf', commonly known as Porcupine Grass, is a compact and striking ornamental grass that adds vertical interest to any garden. Its distinct horizontal bands of green and yellow along the arching foliage resemble the spines of a porcupine, hence its name.
This dwarf variety typically reaches a height of around 90-120 cm, making it suitable for smaller gardens or containers, or use for any gaps in your mixed perennial beds. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil.
In late Summer, 'Strictus Dwarf' produces feathery plumes that rise above the foliage, starting with a reddish hue and maturing to silver as Autumn progresses. These plumes add a delicate texture and movement to garden landscapes, complimenting perennial beds or mixed borders.
Our nursery values 'Strictus Dwarf' for its low maintenance and reliable performance throughout the seasons. Its unique appearance and adaptability make it an ideal choice for various garden styles, from modern and urban landscapes to traditional cottage gardens. Additionally, it provides shelter and food for wildlife, contributing to the biodiversity of garden spaces.
