The Sims Medieval is a special installment of The Sims series, bringing the popular and recognized gameplay model back to the Middle Ages. The production - combining elements of strategy and cRPG - was developed by The Sims Studio.Unlike the standard editions of The Sims series, the action of which takes place in modern times, playing The Sims Medieval comes down to expanding your medieval kingdom. The player has full control over the entire process, however - what is worth noting - the direction of development depends to a large extent on the character in which the character is played.Namely, depending on whether the player controls the king or queen, knight or wizard, blacksmith or bard at a given moment, the story is told from a slightly different perspective. This involves access to a separate set of quests that not only develop the story, but also affect the shape of the world presented. The tasks included many classic stories, associated by all lovers of medieval or fantastic climates (including forging a legendary sword, arranging a royal wedding, protecting the kingdom from an evil sorcerer, finding the fountain of youth).Despite the division into roles proposed by the creators, the decisions made by the player primarily affect the development of the kingdom. In the game, therefore, we decide whether we will build its power on the foundation of regularly strengthened ties between its inhabitants, or by attempting to conquer the lands belonging to our neighbors. Nothing prevents the player from focusing entirely on himself, not caring about his subjects at all. On the other hand, by taking control of a ruler, he may well turn out to be a law-abiding and just man, enjoying great and unforced recognition among the inhabitants of the kingdom.
