Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. They make up 1/3 of muscle tissue. BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine) are essential amino acids that cannot be manufactured by the body and so it's necessary to consume them through food or supplementation. Unlike other amino acids they are metabolised in the muscle instead of the liver so the muscle can quickly utilise them as fuel when training.
