It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!) In general, softshell is more breathable than traditional rainwear, making it more comfortable to wear when you're active.  Many wear softshell regardless of the weather: You're prepared for a rain shower, and at the same time, the soft inner layer keeps you comfortably warm.  About Water Column Pressure Water column pressure indicates how much water the material can withstand before it starts to penetrate. The higher the water column pressure, the more waterproof it is. A good rule of thumb is that +2,000 mm is suitable for light rain showers/short trips in the rain, while +5,000 is for a heavier rain shower or a couple of hours in light rain. If you're going to be out in heavy rain, we recommend +8,000 mm.  Some Practical Information This fabric consists of 95% polyester and 5% elastane.
