Outdoor DIY Are you also a believer in the saying: "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing"? Then this material is just for you! When designing for outdoor living, it's important to choose a material that's strong, windproof and water-repellent. In this case, beaver nylon is a good choice. This quality is robust and durable with a water-repellent effect, making it perfect for practical, stylish outdoor clothing for both adults and children! Sew your own all-in-one suit or jacket – perhaps with a matching bucket hat that keeps the worst of the rain from your eyes. For Everything Else Or how about using the fabric for things other than clothing? For instance, create a relaxed seating area on the patio with outdoor bean bags. They're easy to move around, ensuring you always have an extra seat available. Sew a cool bag, for example, a classic gym bag with strings, a practical yoga bag, or a stylish, spacious shopper. Find inspiration among our many sewing patterns. Some Practicalities This fabric consists of 55% cotton and 45% nylon. You choose the length you need for your sewing project – the fabric is 145 cm wide and shrinks 5% when washed. We recommend using a universal needle size 90. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health label for textiles. When the fabric is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, it guarantees that it has been tested and approved, and is free from any harmful chemicals.

Sewing in satinFancy a glossy look for your DIY project? Then you should consider satin! The special weave gives a nice glossy front, a more matte back and a nice shiny look! Our Savina satin is available in many beautiful colours! Find your favourites and order exactly the length you need. Beautiful designs in satinUse satin to create beautiful accessories for everyday and on special occasions. For example, sew a puffy bag or tote bag that you can use for everyday and on special festive occasions. You can also choose to use the shiny fabric as a lining in your project; it adds a beautiful finish. And then, of course, you can use satin for clothing - for example, a nice satin shirt, a pair of cool satin trousers or maybe a jumpsuit with a drawstring waist. The fabric has a width of 135 cm and shrinks about 3% in the wash. It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!) Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips.  What is satin?Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. Leggings for a party, a beautifully draping skirt, or an elegant top.  The possibilities are endless – just get out the sewing machine and get started.  A bit of practicality This fabric is made of 92% polyester and 8% elastane. It measures 150 cm in width, and you can expect it to shrink by 6% when washed. Choose the length you need for your DIY project. When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, which is characterised by having a medium point – also known as ball point. The needle easily penetrates the knitted quality and prevents stitches and threads from running. For this type of jersey, we recommend jersey needles in size 70/80.
