Your project and purpose will determine which elastic you should choose. This elastic band is a flat with a width of ten millimetres. It is still considered a narrow elastic band, but with the extra millimetres you also get an elastic band that has a little more. For example, use the elastic in the drawstring at the bottom of the sleeves or to finish off baby and children's trousers so that the trouser legs stay in place while your child tumbles and plays.  This elastic is crocheted, made of polyester/rubber, washable at 40° and do not tumble dry.

Light, colourful and a beautiful drape! Viscose is a popular fabric for many fashion designs. It's a light and soft material with good breathability, while also being comfortable to wear.  The beautiful drape is especially pronounced in tops, dresses, and shirts, where even with the simplest designs, you achieve a stylish look. The design is up to you: Does the shirt need a small collar? The top a boat neck? Or are you into ruched details?  That being said, viscose is also well-suited for light trousers. We prefer them with a bit of width in the legs, so you once again benefit from the lovely drape.  Choose from many stunning colours.  What is viscose? Viscose has been used for clothing for over 100 years. The fabric consists of processed and regenerated cellulose, for example from wood pulp or cotton waste. It resembles natural fibres like cotton and silk.  Some practicalities The fabric is 100% viscose, is 130 cm wide, and you can of course choose the length you need. Wash at 40°C, iron at medium heat, and allow to air dry. Expect 5% shrinkage after washing.  Remember to use the right needles – we recommend using a universal needle or a microtex needle in size 70.

Or are you in the process of designing your confirmation dress but need the perfect blank fabric to bring your design to life? Party satin - or duchess satin - is a great choice: Its bright colours and elegant drape give you plenty of options for creating festive dresses, shirts, tops, bow ties, vests and trouser suits.   And if you want it all to match, you can also sew a small clutch to go with it. A little more about this satinMade from 100% polyester, this satin has a nice drape and the classic satin look in a variety of colours. The fabric is 145 cm wide, has a weight of 150 grams and shrinks about 1% in the wash. You can machine wash it at 40° - remember that it should always be hang-dried and only ironed at low heat. TIP: Avoid water and water-based markers - they can leave small stains (same goes for hand cream!). Instead, use tailor's chalk to make markings. Always make a test on a small piece first, then draw on the back. And - while we're on the subject of water - never use steam on satin as it can leave water stains and the high temperature from the steam can change the lustre of the fabric. The invisible zipper!When you want to hide the zipper!  In some designs, the zipper is essential because it can be seen - in others, it's primarily about functionality. The latter fits this zipper, which is a YKK spiral zipper with teeth and stopper in plastic, while the drop shutter itself is in metal. How to use the zipperFor example, sew the zipper in the middle, back or side of finer projects where you want to hide the zipper - for example in light dresses, skirts, blouses and trousers. The invisible zipper is also perfect for bedding and decorative pillows, where the zipper is purely functional but not part of the design.  What you need to know about invisible zippersWe recommend that you buy this zipper 5 cm longer than the opening in your project to achieve the best result when sewing. Sew as close to the teeth as possible and use a presser foot specially designed for this purpose (item no. 46101 if you are using a BERNINA sewing machine and item no. 46172 if you are using a BERNETTE sewing machine).  On the invisible zipper, the spiral is on the back of the invisible zipper. When you sew it in correctly, the spiral tips over on the back and pulls the fabric with it, so the zipper itself is completely hidden.  Note: This invisible zipper is to be used as an invisible zipper only, as it is not stable enough to be used for other sewing techniques where the seams come far away from the spiral itself.   We recommend that you close the zipper before washing. Find a guide on how to sew in an invisible zipper by searching for "Sewing invisible zipper".  Know your zipper There are many different zippers. Functionally, they can be divided into three categories: the non-divisible with closed end, which is used for example in trousers and dresses. The separable, used for example in jackets and cardigans, where you need your design to open completely and the zipper to split in two. And the split 2-way zipper, used for example in coats, where the fact that it can be opened from the bottom as well as from the top gives extra flexibility.This zipper is non-divisible. All our zippers are nickel-free.

The latter fits this zipper, which is a YKK spiral zipper with teeth and stopper in plastic, while the drop shutter itself is in metal. How to use the zipperFor example, sew the zipper in the middle, back or side of finer projects where you want to hide the zipper - for example in light dresses, skirts, blouses and trousers. The invisible zipper is also perfect for bedding and decorative pillows, where the zipper is purely functional but not part of the design.  What you need to know about invisible zippersWe recommend that you buy this zipper 5 cm longer than the opening in your project to achieve the best result when sewing. Sew as close to the teeth as possible and use a presser foot specially designed for this purpose (item no. 46101 if you are using a BERNINA sewing machine and item no. 46172 if you are using a BERNETTE sewing machine).  On the invisible zipper, the spiral is on the back of the invisible zipper. Functionally, they can be divided into three categories: the non-divisible with closed end, which is used for example in trousers and dresses. The separable, used for example in jackets and cardigans, where you need your design to open completely and the zipper to split in two.
