Apollo Orbis Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED ORB-OP-12003-APO

Apollo Orbis Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED ORB-OP-12003-APO

Apollo Orbis Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED ORB-OP-12003-APO OperationApollos Orbis operates on the well-established light scatter principle. The remarkable optical design of the Orbis optical smoke detector allows it to respond to a wide spectrum of fires. The sensing chamber of the Orbis optical smoke detector contains an optical sensor which measures back-scattered light as well as the more usual forward-scattered light. Sensitivity to black smoke is greatly improved. The detector is calibrated so that Orbis is highly reliable in detecting fires but is much less likely to generate false alarms than earlier smoke detectors. The stability of the detectorhigh reliability low false alarm rateis further increased by the use of algorithms to decide when the detector should change to the alarm state. This removes the likelihood of a detector producing an alarm as a result of smoke from smoking materials or from another non-fire source.Brand FeaturesTimeSaver Base designed for fast installationStartUp for fast commissioningFasTest reduces maintenance timeautomatic drift compensation with DirtAlert warning to easily identify dirty detectorsSensAlert which indicates that the detector is not operating properlywide voltage and operating temperature rangesoptical sensor designed for high reliability and reduced false alarm incidencemultisensory smoke detector for detecting fast-burning firesflashing LED option

C-Tec C4416 ActiV Optical Smoke Detector

C-Tec C4416 ActiV Optical Smoke Detector

C-Tec ActiV Optical Smoke Detector - C4416The C4416 Optical Smoke Detector uses an infrared light source and a photodiode to detect smoke. In the absence of smoke light passes in front of the photodiode in a straight line. When smoke enters the optical chamber across the path of the infrared beam light is scattered by particles of smoke in all directions some of which falls on the photodiode thus triggering the alarm.Optical detectors are typically used in escape routes living areas bedrooms and enclosed spaces to give an early indication of fire. They are particularly effective at detecting slow burning fires such as those caused by overheated electrical wiring or smouldering materials which tend to generate larger particles of visible smoke.Other detectors from the ActiV range include C4403A1R which is a Rate of Rise Heat Detector C4403A2 which is a 60C Fixed Heat Detector C4414 which is a Heat Smoke Multi-Sensor and the C4403B which is a 75C Fixed Heat DetectorKey FeaturesA high-quality optical smoke detector offering outstanding detection performance at a very competitive priceManufactured by C-TEC in the UKThird-party certified to EN54-7 by IntertekCarries the pan-European CertAlarm markWide 6-33V DC operating voltageTwo 8mm x 2mm ultra-bright red LED indicating strips offering 360 visibilityDrift compensation functionality ensures detector sensitivity is automatically calibrated to suit prevailing conditions andor increased contamination levelsCompatible with our ActiV C4408D diode C4408 non-diode and C4408R relay bases all bases include an integrated detectorbase locking mechanism and ID tagClass A1 fixed heat class B fixed heat class A1R rate-of-rise and multi-sensor variants also availableExcellent discounts for quantity orders

Vesda Xtralis PIP-015 Flush Sample Point Head Only for 10mm OD Tube

Vesda Xtralis PIP-015 Flush Sample Point Head Only for 10mm OD Tube

Vesda Xtralis PIP-015 Flush Sample Point Head Only for 10mm OD TubeDue to the aesthetic design of some buildings such as ornate ceilings or ceiling art-work a discreet unobtrusive smoke detection system is often desirable. Large open atria or voids feature stratified thermal layers that can prevent cooled smoke from reaching ceiling level. As such conventional systems will normally only respond when a fully-fledged fire condition is reached by which time significant damage has already occurred.VESDA provides the discreet detection required in heritage buildings by routing the sampling pipes in areas that are not visible from normal occupancy. Small-bore capillary pipes are used to provide detection at the required location. The room fabric often dictates the location of these capillary tubes. Hiding the capillary tubes behind light fittings blending in with ceiling paintings or forming part of the ceiling sculptures can all be used to provide invisible smoke detection. In high volume atria applications such as cathedrals capillary sample points can be routed into the area at intermediate vertical levels to good effect to overcome stratification. The higher potential sensitivity of the VESDA system means that less smoke is required at the sample points to provide an alarm condition. With over 250000 aspirating smoke detectors installed worldwide the VESDA name has become synonymous with high quality and outstanding performance. An aspirating smoke detection system however only performs at its best with a well designed and installed quality pipework system. Xtralis manufacturer of VESDA detectors recognised this requirement and in 1997 launched its VESDA Pipe and Fittings range.Key FeaturesFor use with Red or White ABSOperating temperature range -40C to 70CLPCB approvedEN54 testedApplications Used inChurchesHospitalsMuseums GalleriesPrisonsLibrariesArchivesConcert HallsPlease Note The PIP-015 is equivalent to the REDASP025F.

Hawco 312-300 12quot 14 NPT Female Hexagonal Retaining Nut for Detect-A-Fire Heat Detectors Pack of 6

Pleasenote This product incurs additional shipping charges.Hawco 312-300 12 14 NPT Female Hexagonal RetainingNut for Detect-A-Fire Heat Detectors Pack of 6DETECT-A-FIRE D-A-F detectors are the heartof many fire protection systems. The highly reliable D-A-F has been thestandard for over 75 years. The D-A-F is used for signaling overheat or fireconditions. In most applications the D-A-F provides the initial heat sensingthat is used to activate suppression systems using clean agent CO2 inertgases wet or dry chemicals or water.D-A-F detectors are widely accepted because they aredesigned with rate compensation. This provides a unique advantage over bothfixed temperature and rate-of-rise types of detectors because the D-A-Fdetector accurately senses the surrounding air temperature regardless of thefire growth rate. At the pre-determined set point the system is activated.Fixed temperature detectors must be completely heated to alarm temperature andtherefore a lag in response time may occur with a fast rate fire. Rate-of-risedevices on the other hand are triggered by the rate of increase in ambienttemperature and are subject to false alarms caused by harmless transientthermal gradients such as the rush of warm air from process ovens. The key to the detectors sensitivity is in the design. Theouter shell is made of a rapidly expanding alloy which closely follows changesin surrounding air temperature. The inner struts are made of a slower expandingalloy. Designed to resist thermal energy absorption and sealed inside theshell the struts follow temperature changes more slowly. A slow rate fire willheat the shell and struts together. At the set point the detectorwill trigger actuating the alarm or releasing the extinguishant.A transient rush of warm air up to 40Fmin. mayexpand the shell while not triggering the detector. By ignoring transient warmair excursions the D-A-F detector virtually eliminates false alarms prevalentwith rate-of-rise devices. If a fast rate fire starts the shell will expandrapidly. The struts will close actuating the alarm andor releasing the agent. The faster the fire rate of growth the sooner the D-A-F detector will react.
