Vitis Vinifera (Grape Tree) - Gnarled Trunk

Vitis Vinifera (Grape Tree) - Gnarled Trunk

The grape is eaten, and processed to make wine. Cultivars of Vitis vinifera form the basis of the majority of wines produced around the world. All of the familiar wine varieties belong to Vitis vinifera, which is cultivated on every continent except for Antarctica, and in all the major wine regions of the world . The fruit is typically green, maturing into a purple and then eventually a solid black. It has a hardiness rating of H5 so it is perfect for the British climate although make sure to shelter in extremely unusual cold snaps. Pests and diseases can be problematic for this plant so take care when maintaining. Grape pruning and trimming is carried out usually in winter and midsummer. Nerium Oleander (East Indian Oleander) – Multi-Stem - Extra

Nerium Oleander (East Indian Oleander) – Multi-Stem - Extra

Nerium Oleander, commonly known as oleander; is a large evergreen ornamental shrub that has been cultivated since ancient times. The narrowly lanceolate are leathery and dark green. They usually grow in pairs or groups of three. The stem is covered with greyish bark and exudes sticky latex if it is cut. Oleander grows well in warm subtropical regions and is extensively used in the Mediterranean as an ornamental shrub in parks and gardens or informal hedge along roadsides. Make sure small children and pets are kept away from oleanders as all parts of the plant are highly toxic if eaten but not normally dangerous to touch though the latex can cause irritation in people who are allergic to it. The plant itself has a low hardiness rating of H3, making it unsuitable for the British winter time. Make sure to shelter it during any potential cold snaps. The plant is generally disease free but is prone to potential pests so take this into consideration. Stick to the guidelines of pruning group 9 for this plant. The final height of this plant is between 1.5 m – 2.5 m (4.9 ft – 8.2 ft) and the final width is between 1 m – 1.5 m (3.2 ft – 4.9 ft).
