Automated Software Testing with Cypress

Automated Software Testing with Cypress

Unit Integration Testing (UIT) had been a challenge because there was no tool that could help in XHR programming and unit integration validations in an efficient way until Cypress arrived. Cypress started releasing versions in 2015 and became popular in 2018 with version 2. 0. 0. This book explores Cypress scripts that help implement ‘shift left testing’ which is a dream come true for many software testers. Shift left occurs in the majority of testing projects but could not be implemented fully because tools were unavailable and knowledge was lacking about the possibilities of testing early in the life cycle. Shift left is a key testing strategy to help testing teams focus less on defect identifications and more on developing practices to prevent defects. Cypress scripts can help front-end developers and quality engineers to work together to find defects soon after web components are built. These components can be tested immediately after they are built with Cypress Test Driven Development (TDD) scripts. Thus defects can be fixed straight away during the development stage. Testing teams do not have to worry about finding these same defects in a later development stage because Cypress tests keep verifying components in the later stages. Defect fixing has become much cheaper with Cypress than when other tools are used. The book also covers Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)-based Gherkin scripts and the Cypress Cucumber preprocessor which can improve test scenario coverage. Automated Software Testing with Cypress is written to fulfil the BDD and TDD needs of testing teams. Two distinct open source repositories are provided in Github to help start running Cypress tests in no time!

Multiple Testing Problems in Pharmaceutical Statistics

Multiple Testing Problems in Pharmaceutical Statistics

Useful Statistical Approaches for Addressing Multiplicity IssuesIncludes practical examples from recent trials Bringing together leading statisticians scientists and clinicians from the pharmaceutical industry academia and regulatory agencies Multiple Testing Problems in Pharmaceutical Statistics explores the rapidly growing area of multiple comparison research with an emphasis on pharmaceutical applications. In each chapter the expert contributors describe important multiplicity problems encountered in pre-clinical and clinical trial settings. The book begins with a broad introduction from a regulatory perspective to different types of multiplicity problems that commonly arise in confirmatory controlled clinical trials before giving an overview of the concepts principles and procedures of multiple testing. It then presents statistical methods for analyzing clinical dose response studies that compare several dose levels with a control as well as statistical methods for analyzing multiple endpoints in clinical trials. After covering gatekeeping procedures for testing hierarchically ordered hypotheses the book discusses statistical approaches for the design and analysis of adaptive designs and related confirmatory hypothesis testing problems. The final chapter focuses on the design of pharmacogenomic studies based on established statistical principles. It also describes the analysis of data collected in these studies taking into account the numerous multiplicity issues that occur. This volume explains how to solve critical issues in multiple testing encountered in pre-clinical and clinical trial applications. It presents the necessary statistical methodology along with examples and software code to show how to use the methods in practice.

Assessment and Testing An Introduction

Assessment and Testing An Introduction

Originally published in 1972 there were many ‘classics’ dealing with assessment and testing on the market at the time but most of these left the inexperienced reader bewildered in the early stages because of their size and insufficient explanation of the many technical terms used. There were a distinct lack of books which gave students in Colleges of Education dealing with psychology for the first time a simple explanation of basic terms in assessment and testing and which introduced them briefly to the different types of tests available. Assessment and Testing aimed to fill this large gap. It looks at such key psychological terms as ‘sample’ ‘objectivity’ ‘subjectivity’ and such basic statistical terms such as ‘mean’ ‘standard deviation’ and ‘normal curve of distribution’. Because it assumes that the reader has no knowledge of such terms it gives careful and simply illustrated explanations of each. In the same way in simple language with any technical terms explained and illustrated it explains intelligence and personality tests questionnaires sociometric measures projection techniques and other areas of assessment and testing which every practising teacher will meet. The book aims to be essentially practical. It is appreciated all the time that the readers are those who will teach children. It is designed to provide a solid foundation upon which the reader can build later to augment his own experience of identifying children’s particular needs. | Assessment and Testing An Introduction

Treating Chronically Traumatized Children The Sleeping Dogs Method

Treating Chronically Traumatized Children The Sleeping Dogs Method

When children refuse or seem unable to talk about their traumatic memories it might be tempting to ‘let sleeping dogs lie’. However if left untreated the memories of childhood abuse and neglect can have a devastating effect on the development of children and young people. How can these children be motivated and engage in trauma-focused therapy? Treating Chronically Traumatized Children: The Sleeping Dogs Method describes a structured method to overcome resistance and enable children to wake these sleeping dogs safely so these children heal from their trauma. The ‘Sleeping Dogs method’ is a comprehensive approach to treating chronically traumatized children first preparing the child to such an extent that he or she can engage in therapy to process traumatic memories then by the trauma processing and integration phase. Collaboration with the child’s network the child’s biological family including the abuser-parent and child protection services are key elements of the 'Sleeping Dogs method'. The underlying theory about the consequences of traumatization such as disturbed attachment and dissociation is described in a comprehensive easy-to-read manner illustrated with case studies and is accompanied by downloadable worksheets. This new edition has been updated to include the clinical experience in working with this method and the most recent literature and research as well as entirely new chapters that apply the ‘Sleeping Dogs method’ to the experiences of children in foster care and residential care and those with an intellectual disability. Treating Chronically Traumatized Children will have a wide appeal including psychologists psychiatrists psychotherapists counsellors family therapists social workers child protection frontline foster care and youth workers inpatient and residential staff and (foster or adoptive) parents. | Treating Chronically Traumatized Children The Sleeping Dogs Method
