Dog Rose Hedge Rosa canina Pack of 50 Bare Roots 40/60cm

Dog Rose Hedge Rosa canina Pack of 50 Bare Roots 40/60cm

Cheery hedges produce impressive floral shows from dense foliage. Displaying a thicket of rich green leaves and hooked thorns during spring and summer, Dog Rose hedges are great deterrents, while also forming a screen against incoming wind and noise. Summertime brings pale pink to white flowers, which coat the hedges with beauty and fill the air with a floral aroma. By autumn, the flowers evolve into bright red rose hips, containing the seeds of the plant. Recommended by the RHS as 'Plants for Pollinators', a dense habit creates a perfect shelter for wildlife, while the rose hips are delicious to birds. Hardy natured to grow well even in coastal locations, while withstanding extremely cold wintery conditions and strong winds. These hardy hedges can be planted in most soil types, if kept moist and well-drained.For best results, plant in a spot of the garden that will receive full sun, although Dog Rose can still thrive in partial shade. These fast-growing plants, with up to 60cm of growth per year, reach a good garden height of around 4m.Don't forget to use one of our handy bamboo cane and spiral guard sets when planting a bare root hedge. The cane will keep the bare root upright as it grows, while the spiral guard will protect the base of the plant from wildlife to achieve as thick a hedge as possible.Supplied as 50 bare root plants, 40-60cm tall, ready for planting.

Rose of the Year 2025 Youre My Everything

Rose of the Year 2025 Youre My Everything

Introducing the newly crowned 'Rose of the Year' for 2025... Rose 'You're My Everything', and what an incredible variety! Get growing now before you see them everywhere! You're bound to adore the excellent blend of colourful Hybrid Tea blooms produced by this shrub rose. Large and loud, the double flowers each display scores of creamy white curled petals, rich pink at the edges and forming around a yellow-tinged centre. The attractive flowers open from pink-to-cream buds, revealing a hum of yellow at the very base, with buttery yellow stamens that draw the attention of pollinators. The sweet shop colour combination is a treat for the summer garden, with dark pink edges growing paler with age. A perfect rose for quaint garden settings, producing a captivating floral fragrance that drifts on any warm summer breeze.Bright blooms repeat flower through summer and into early autumn, stretching across the plant of glossy and dark green foliage. Leaves drop in autumn, making way for fresh spring growth, when the foliage takes on a deep red hue.Thankfully, this compact variety boasts an excellent disease resistance and is easy to grow, whether planted in mixed borders, beds, or patio pots.Supplied as an established rose in a 4L pot, ready to plant. We always endeavour to provide beautifully formed plants; however, our roses will naturally start to lose their leaves from October to prepare for the colder months. Do not worry though, as they will flourish once again with leaves and buds in the spring. Please, make sure you consider the season when purchasing our remarkable roses for yourself or loved ones.

The cane will keep the bare root upright as it grows, while the spiral guard will protect the base of the plant from wildlife to achieve as thick a hedge as possible.Supplied as 50 bare root hedging plants, 40-60cm tall, including the following:Field Maple 'Acer campestre' x 5 - Large, textured green leaves in a five-lobed shape grow in abundance on Field Maple hedges, which transform to golden yellow in autumn. If some catkins and flowers are saved from trimming, green hazelnuts can grow in autumn to feed the squirrels.Hawthorn 'Crataegus monogyna' x 15 - Hardy hedges with green leaves, and dainty white fragrant flowers in spring. In autumn, the flowers develop into dark red berries, which are loved by birds. Thorny branches and dense natured to form a barrier for the garden, as well as a habitat for more than 100 types of insects. Spring brings small white flowers, even before the oval-shaped green leaves have chance to emerge. Autumnal black fruits, just like damsons, can be picked when ripe in November and turned into sweet, fruity gin.
