[Shadeshares](https://www.shadeshares.com/blogs/our-story/our-story) designs and produces quality sunglasses made of Finnish birch veneer with polarized UV protection lenses. All of their sunglasses, down to every single detail, are made in SOS Children’s Village in Nairobi, Kenya. Their workshop is currently training and employing 20 young adults who come from the Kariobangi & Korogocho slums teaching them valuable working-life skills.
One of the core values of Shadeshares is to become a zero carbon footprint company. As a company they plant one tree for each Shadeshares sunglass pair sold. All sunglasses are made from environmentally sustainable materials, and the manufacturing chain is open and transparent. They know who works at their workshop and they make sure that they have proper working conditions.
