The ?Low? Symphony, composed in the spring of 1992, is based on the record ?Low? by David Bowie and Brian Eno first released in 1977. The record consisted of a number of songs and instrumentals and used techniques which were similar to procedures used by composers working in new and experimental music. As such, this record was widely appreciated by musicians working both in the field of ?pop? music and in experimental music and was a landmark work of that period.Having taken themes from three of the instrumentals on the record and, combining them with material of his own, Glass has used them as the basis of three movements of this Symphony.This is the Full Score of Glass? orchestral work.

Composed in 1986, this fast-paced and dynamic work took the symphonic world by storm. Available here in a playable setting for school ensembles; Richard Saucedo has transposed the key down a third from the original and skilfully adapted some of the more complicated rhythmic patterns without sacrificing any of the excitement and drive. A wonderful introduction to “minimalist” music from one of America's most treasured contemporary composers.

Vidda : Solo for Trumpet and Brass Band

I composed the song "Vidda" after I got my ultimate boy's dream fulfilled; To fly one of the Air Force's F-16 fighter jets! We flew out from Norwegian city Bodø on to the Finnmark plateau, where we flew so-called "low level" (at low altitude). It was such a great experience for me that I immediately wrote the song "Vidda" based on my experience of the trip. Here, I try to describe the meeting between the technical perfection of a machine that surpasses most of the various forces in it’s escape through the magnificent scenery passing at great speed, and the pilot who is alone with both the adventure and responsibility. The drums which start the song is meant to describes theenergy in the power of the plane, while the lonely and kind of melancholy melody from the trumpet in the beginning describes the feelings of the pilot. As the song develop, we pass both the mountains and big beautiful plateaus with g-forces quivering body. Hopefully you will share some of my experiences through this song. Have a nice flight! Seis Manuel : from Islas y Montanas

Seis Manuel is the 3rd movement of the 4-movement suite Islas y Montañas and represents the traditional song and dance form of the Jibaro people, peasant farmers from the mountains of Puerto Rica. Solos are given to low brass and clarinets, important instruments in Puerto Rican military bands.
